The MSC Malaysia Local Advisory Panel (LAP) has held its first meeting to chart strategies for the further development of the country’s MSC Malaysia initiative.

Compared to last year’s SCORE+ Programme (SCORE+) findings, the results for this year have gone up marginally with most MSC Malaysia companies having advanced from the early stages of being a start-up. With a total of 418 MSC Companies taking part, the number of companies profiled for SCORE+ 2010 practically doubled from last year. In fact, the average rating for the 2010 SCORE+ has increased to 2.19 with around 28% of the 418 organisations having been rated with 3 stars and above.

Datuk Badlisham Ghazali, CEO of Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC), once again reinforces MDeC’s support for the open source community as he mentioned how MSC Malaysia will continue to promote and encourage greater adoption of open source technologies and solutions. This will be done through MDeC related programmes in developing and enhancing the innovation, competitiveness, and market capabilities of local open source developers.

On October 25th, 2010, Malaysia was host to the 2nd Global Islamic Finance Forum (GIFF) 2010, a high-level multi-track event that brought together regulators, academicians and companies within the financial industry that are leading the global development of Islamic finance. GIFF 2010 was organised by Bank Negara Malaysia and MSC Malaysia was proud to participate as a knowledge partner.
